There are 3 P’s of selling your home, and the first is preparation. Your home needs to be able to compete in the marketplace and be the very next home to sell in your neighborhood.

There are three key parts of preparing your home for the market:

  1. Repairs: Does your home need any repairs? Are there any deferred maintenance items that you need to address? If so, take care of those issues before you put your home on the market. You may even want to do a home inspection before listing your home for sale in order to head off any problems in advance.

  1. Staging: Have you ever walked into a builder’s brand-new model home and said, “Wow, this is awesome. I can just move in right away!” Your home needs to create as close to that experience for prospective buyers as possible. Buyers need to feel at home and comfortable from the moment they pull up to the curb to the second they drive away.

  1. Cleanliness: Before your home becomes publicly available for buyers to look at, you need to make sure that it is sparkling clean. That way, your home can be the very next one to sell in your neighborhood.

If you are curious about how the three aspects of preparation can make your home stand out on the market, check out the video above to see a quick example.
